Case Study
Overview

Ideate partnered with Tea-Fi from the ground up, shaping both the brand and the digital experience behind it. We defined the visual identity, tone, and creative direction before translating them into a cohesive ecosystem that includes the website, dark-mode mini site, pitch deck, and mobile app. The focus was on building a brand that feels innovative and future-ready.

The Challenge

Tea-Fi needed a brand that felt innovative and investor-ready without looking like yet another dark, neon crypto project. It also needed one consistent system that could stretch across a mobile app, a website, campaign minisites, an investor deck, social media and print. Every touchpoint had to explain a complex financial product to people who do not think in blockchain terms, including investors.

TheWork

We worked with Tea-Fi from the ground up, starting with strategy and moving into every touchpoint the company needed to launch, grow its community and raise capital.

  • Brand strategy and visual identity: defined the look, tone of voice and creative direction around simplicity and approachability instead of crypto clichés
  • Mobile app UX/UI design and development: redesigned DeFi functions for small screens, with design and development working side by side so the live app matched the designs
  • Website: built as a community hub, education resource and access point to the dApp
  • Campaign minisite: a dark-mode minisite for product campaigns
  • Investor pitch deck: a minimalist, human-centered deck explaining a DeFi "super-app", its product suite and roadmap in plain language
  • Social media creative: creative direction, design and copywriting for product launches, blog promotion and events.
  • Brochure: a printed leave-behind for events and partner meetings

The Approach

Discovery

We started by mapping who Tea-Fi actually had to win over: everyday users new to DeFi, and the investors funding the next stage. Both groups had the same problem with crypto products, which assume you already speak blockchain. That became the test for everything that followed: if a first-time user or a non-technical investor can't follow it, it doesn't ship.

Positioning

Most DeFi brands compete on technical depth. We positioned Tea-Fi on the opposite side: the simple way into DeFi, with gasless, wallet-free transactions that feel like a regular Web2 app. A sharp position gave every later decision a filter, from the tone of voice to what earned a place in the pitch deck.

Identity

We deliberately stayed away from the dark, neon look that makes crypto projects interchangeable. The identity leans on clean layouts, approachable typography and plain language, so Tea-Fi reads as a financial product people can trust. We built it as a system, not just a logo, so it could flex from a small app screen to an event banner without losing its character.

Rollout

We rolled the system out across the mobile app, website, campaign minisites, investor deck, social media and print. Because one team owned strategy, design and development, the live app matched the designs and the brand stayed consistent from the app store to the investor meeting. That consistency is what makes a young company look established.

Summary Results

Tea-Fi went to market with one brand, built by one team, across every touchpoint that mattered for launch, community growth and fundraising.

  • One system, six touchpoints: the mobile app, website, campaign minisites, investor deck, social media and print all run on the same identity.
  • A live app that matches the designs: design and development worked side by side, so nothing was lost between the mockups and the app store.
  • An investor story anyone can follow: a deck that explains a DeFi super-app in plain language, without asking investors to understand smart contracts first.
  • A brand built for the global stage: the identity carried Tea-Fi through events including the Blockchain.rio sponsorship and Consensus Hong Kong.

06 / FAQs
Frequently asked  questions
How do you brand a DeFi or crypto company for mainstream users?

Start with the people you need to win over, not the technology. For Tea-Fi, that meant plain language, approachable visuals and one clear idea per screen, so first-time users and investors could understand the product without a blockchain background.

What does a Web3 brand identity project include?

For Tea-Fi it covered brand strategy, visual identity and tone of voice, then a mobile app, website, campaign minisites, an investor pitch deck, social media creative and a printed brochure. Building everything from one system keeps the brand consistent at every touchpoint.

- High traffic with disproportionately low enquiry rates.
- Strong content engagement that fails to build a qualified sales pipeline.
- Leads generated by marketing that sales teams reject or fail to convert.
- Lack of attribution clarity on which channels drive actual revenue.
- Internal team disagreement on target audience and core priorities.

How do you make a crypto pitch deck investors understand?

Lead with the problem and the product, not protocol diagrams. Tea-Fi's deck used one idea per slide, human language and a clear roadmap, explaining a DeFi super-app without asking investors to understand smart contracts first.

Why should a DeFi startup avoid the typical dark, neon crypto look?

Because it makes you look like every other project. Tea-Fi's identity uses clean layouts and approachable typography so it reads as a trustworthy financial product, which matters when you are asking users to move money and investors to back you.

Can one agency handle crypto branding, UX/UI and app development?

Yes. Ideate handled Tea-Fi's strategy, identity, UX/UI design and development with one team. That meant the live app matched the designs, and the brand stayed consistent from the app store to the investor meeting.
