KCC wasn't a company that needed to invent a new story. It needed to better communicate the story that was already there. Behind the existing identity was a substantial manufacturing business with deep engineering expertise, large-scale U.S. production, direct access to technical teams, and a distinctive employee-ownership model.KCC has been 100% employee-owned since 2008, meaning the people engineering and manufacturing its systems have a direct stake in the company's performance. Its technical credentials were equally important. More than 20 KCC engineers participate in ASHRAE committees, while its engineering team has contributed directly to the standards against which HVAC equipment is tested and certified. The challenge was to bring those strengths forward without abandoning the heritage of an established industrial brand. The new identity therefore needed to feel engineered rather than decorated, modern rather than fashionable, and confident without losing the practical character of a manufacturing company.
